The Nizamabad Police Department has appealed to the public to avoid taking selfies, swimming, or entering projects, backwater areas, flood canals, ponds, and rivers during the rainy season as it is extremely dangerous. Especially in areas where water depth and currents are unknown, people should be cautious. The police emphasized that life safety is paramount and urged people to stay away from hazardous areas and strictly follow instructions from police and concerned departments.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the families of the deceased and their colonies. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
A helping hand of friendship... but they didn't return alive 💔
One incident in Nizamabad on Sunday left four families in grief.
Four young men went to the Sriram Sagar Lakshmi Canal with friends for "some fun"... but they never made it back home.
What happened?
One of them was drowning in the water and the others couldn't just watch. "We have to save him," and the other three also jumped into the water.
But the force of the floodwaters swept them away too.
Who were they?
1. Arhan - 17 - A boy who came from Maharashtra to visit relatives
2. Syed Wajahat alias Ammu - 24 - DCIM Mechanic from Autonagar. He was the support of his family
3. Khaleem - 24 - Bhagat Singh Colony, Argapalli. Vehicle mechanic
4. Azeem - 24 - Still missing. NDRF, Police and swimmers searched all night
This is friendship that cost them their lives while trying to save another.
Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya also went to the spot and personally supervised the rescue operations.
Police Appeal:
It's rainy season... avoid selfies and swimming near projects, canals and ponds. That "one minute" can change your entire life.
With the sons who were the support of their families gone like this, Autonagar and Argapalli are filled with sorrow.
Salutes to those 3 young men who gave their lives for friendship 🙏
Let's pray that missing Azeem is found soon.
