Journalists Protest in Nizamabad Against Attack on Woman Journalist by Delhi Police, Demand Action

Nizamabad(By Shairaz), September 06: Condemning the attack on a woman journalist by Delhi Police, journalists staged a protest at Dharna Chowk in Nizamabad on Sunday.

A large number of Urdu, Telugu print, electronic and social media journalists participated in the protest and expressed their solidarity.

Congress, BRS and AIMIM party district in-charges, Urdu Academy Chairman Taher Bin Hamdan, BRS Urban in-charge Ganesh Gupta, Ramakrishna, Javid Akram, Quddus Bhai, Nizamabad Press Club Committee Member Fayaz along with SC, ST, BC, and Minority association leaders participated in the program.

Speaking on the occasion, they strongly condemned the attack on the woman journalist in Delhi. They said that it is a heinous act for the police to attack journalists who are considered the fourth pillar of society. They warned that they will continue their fight until departmental action is taken against the Delhi police who were involved in the attack. They questioned how far it is justified to create caste and religious differences and attack. They said that they will continue the protest movement until the Delhi Police apologize to the journalists.

PRTU Telangana District Honorary President Kripal Singh Sodi expressed solidarity in the protest program organized by journalists at Dharna Chowk today. Speaking on this occasion, he said that they strongly condemn the attack by Delhi Police on the woman journalist and demanded that the police who attacked should be immediately suspended and justice should be done to the woman journalist. He said that instead of respecting freedom of expression, oppressive measures are against the spirit of democracy, and such incidents should not be repeated. He participated in the protest at Dharna Chowk wearing black badges and expressed solidarity.

Accreditation committee members Majeed, Narsimlu, journalists Subhash, Kaisar, Akhil, Khaled, Pasha Khan, Shakeel, Yunus, Yaseen, Usman, Nadeem, Ghaffar, Yusuf and other journalists and public association leaders participated in the protest program.
